What’s the Difference Between Biodegradable and Compostable?
Great question. When we were researching what kind of trash bag we wanted to offer, we asked the same thing. “Biodegradable” means a product has microorganisms added to help break down its plastic elements. “Compostable” means the product is made of natural plant starch and does not produce any toxic material. We realized we wanted to offer both features. To make this promise, we had to make sure the science was sound, so our product has been tested and certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute in conjunction with the U.S. Composting Council. That’s about as official as you can get.
Minimal Packaging for Responsible Sustainability
We didn’t just stop with a fully biodegradable and compostable garbage bag. We wanted our commitment to sustainability to be obvious from the moment you see our product. So we created minimal packaging using a paper-based wrap and coreless roll of bags so there’s no leftover cardboard.
